Notes from 4/14/14

Hello everyone, here are the notes from last night's Gluten Free Newbies group:

going out to eat:
--call ahead of time (during the day at a not so busy time for the restaurant) and talk with a manager or a chef

Cookbooks:
--Cake Mix Doctor Bakes GF by Anne Byrn

--Artisanal GF Cooking

GF Flours:
--Cup 4 Cup (found at William Sonoma/or buy it in smaller amounts at Urbandale HyVee at the scooper bins)
--Namaste
--King Arthur
--Pamela's

Baking tips:
--freeze bread and take out what you need
--Bundt cakes do well (no soggy middles!)

Other:
--Johnston Lion's Club is having a pancake dinner the first Saturday of May and they will have a  separate GF station for GF pancakes!
--Williams Sonoma has GF cooking classes
--Udi's bread at Costco is a good deal--found in the freezer ($6.99 for a giant loaf)
--Namaste flour is at Costo
